Putting Inspiration Into Action
Written By Freedom Business Alliance
Valerie Kosiadi is an FBA Partner and has played a pivotal role in our Masks for Freedom initiative, leveraging her network to develop and coordinate bulk sales to organizations in her region and beyond. She works as a Customer Success Manager at a Bay Area tech firm. Her willingness to lend her professional skills and lean into the mission of FBA, has had a major impact in the success of our just-in-time relief initiative.
We wanted to find out what has motivated her generosity.
Q: Why do you volunteer with FBA?
One of the first questions I had when I graduated college was how could I integrate my faith and work in an intimate way and in an area I’m passionate about. About three years ago, I caught a vision to see business reimagined as a platform for creating disciples, for furthering Biblical justice, for creation care, and for elevating the marginalized by giving them dignified employment opportunities. I have since then had a desire to engage in this business as mission (BAM) model somehow in my future endeavors in the area of anti-human trafficking, an injustice I feel particularly passionate about. Freedom Business Alliance’s mission aligns with my God-given passion and calling so closely I knew I wanted to serve God through my engagement with FBA!

Q: What has been most meaningful to you about the work you have been doing with us?
The work I do with FBA sits at the intersection of faith, business, missions, and justice. I’m passionate not only about each of these areas on their own, but also about integrating them for Kingdom work. Not only that, the work I do with FBA involves using transferable professional skills I’ve gained from my corporate job. It is so beautiful and meaningful for me to taste firsthand how God could and would use all that I have, from these integrated passions to my professional skills, in His perfect timing for my engagement with FBA.
