COLLABORATION
IS KEY

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to trafficking, through collaboration we can access a global community of resources. We then use our own knowledge to ground these resources within our unique cultural contexts.

Human trafficking has no easy solution. Tens of millions of people are caught in its throes, but each person has a different story of how they came to be in that situation. Freedom Businesses respond by creating programs to alleviate the causes and better prevent trafficking within their unique cultural context. All Freedom Businesses are different, but this does not mean they must work in isolation.

Collaboration is at the heart of the Freedom Business movement, helping businesses harness general best practices and contextualizing them to help combat trafficking on an individual level.

People on the front lines of human trafficking can easily get caught up in the day-to-day problems of running a program or business. Through collaboration, we can shift our perspective, see who also is working in the same space, and learn from people who know and understand the issues we face. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to trafficking, through collaboration we can access a global community of resources. We then use our own knowledge to ground these resources within our unique cultural contexts.

The Freedom Business Alliance works to unite businesses drawing on each company’s unique perspectives while sharing resources across the movement. We partner with organizations like the Global Learning Community (GLC), Dark Bali, the Freedom Collaborative, who intentionally gather practitioners and businesses on the national and global levels to find more sustainable solutions to the issues of trafficking.

Later this month, businesses and practitioners from around the world will converge in Pattaya, Thailand, for the Freedom Business Forum. Through roundtables and panel discussions, businesses can learn from one another and share their own unique experiences to better prevent and respond to human trafficking within their mutual contexts.

Practitioners in the anti-trafficking movement can expect to walk away with many tangible results from this conference, such as practical implementations of trauma-informed policies & procedures and business essentials. But there will also be many intangible benefits, such as new connections with like-minded businesses, new perspectives on key issues, and inspiration that will flourish into robust programs.

Only through collective action can we truly harness the power of the Freedom Business movement. No matter the size and scope of your business or work, when we work collaboratively, we give and receive unique expertise that propels us to new heights.

For those who are joining us at the Freedom Business Forum, we cannot wait to hear your unique experiences, and for those who cannot make it, thank you for your continued through our alliance and membership programs.
