1) What countries you have lived in and where you do you currently reside? I have lived in Taiwan, the Netherlands, Moldova, and the US.  I enjoy traveling and have been to more than 40 countries on 4 continents.  Currently our family resides in Alabama, in the United States.

2) Share a bit about your family. I’ve been married for 18 years and going strong.  We have 2 children, a boy and a girl.  We love to spend time together playing games, hiking, traveling, and in general anything that involves adventure. I am always working to instill in my kids a desire to make a difference in the world, in anticipation that one day I can pass the baton!

3) How did you get involved with FBA? Through several events and my work in Eastern Europe, I got involved in the intersection of business and human trafficking in 2010-2011.  Working with colleagues from a number of different backgrounds and countries, we put together a white paper on the subject and looked at many case studies of Freedom Businesses struggling around the world.    Coming out of a 2013 conference, when over 100 leaders came together to brainstorm these challenges, a small group of us agreed to continue meeting to explore the solutions.  The need for unity and connectivity as a Freedom Business movement became very clear, and thus the FBA was born a couple years later.  I have really enjoyed being involved in such an important initiative, and look forward to the years ahead!

4) What is your passion and gifting? I have a strong desire to use my life to make a difference in the world, and have had this since I was a child.  Through both studying and experiencing business, I have discovered my calling and my passion – to use it as a tool to change communities, create jobs, and build developing economies. But to me business is much more than just products, services, and profits.  It is an engine by which we learn, develop, provide for our families, grow, create, and use our imaginations.  In this way, I believe it is uniquely suited to make a difference in people’s lives.

5)What are you most excited about with FBA? I am always most excited to see people come together around a cause, and then work together to bring it to the next level.  This is exactly what the FBA is about, engaging and valuing many people from different walks of life, while using the powerful tool of business to bring life-changing opportunities to those who are the most vulnerable and exploited in our world.
